State highway officials hope to have the Bridgeport Bypass open by Christmas.
Initially, it was slated to open around Thanksgiving, but construction delays stemming from several delays stemming from several landslides have pushed back the opening date, said Don Williams, an engineer with the state Division of Highways in Bridgeport.
The four-lane road will connect Interstate 79 with U.S. 50 near the Harrison-Taylor County line.
Williams said Tuesday he didn't have a firm date for the expected opening.
